1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Luminary ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Luminary. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. Your continued use of Luminary after any modifications to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Service Description
Luminary is an AI-powered companion tool for Genshin Impact that provides personalized team composition recommendations, character build reviews, artifact optimization suggestions, resource farming guidance, and general gameplay advice based on your in-game data. The Service analyzes your game roster, progression, and available resources to deliver tailored recommendations through a conversational AI interface.
Luminary is an independent, fan-made tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected with HoYoverse, COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD., miHoYo, or any of their subsidiaries or affiliates.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use Luminary. If you are between the ages of 13 and 18 (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. By using Luminary, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time and to terminate accounts that do not meet these requirements.
4. Account Registration
To access certain features of Luminary, you may need to create an account by providing a valid email address and other requested information. When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Maintain and promptly update your account information to keep it accurate and complete
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately at support@luminary.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or are being used in violation of these Terms.
5. HoYoLab Data Access
Luminary integrates with HoYoLab to provide personalized recommendations based on your Genshin Impact game data. By connecting your HoYoLab account, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- You authorize Luminary to access your publicly available game data through HoYoLab's API, including but not limited to your character roster, equipment, progression data, and game statistics
- All data access is strictly read-only — Luminary cannot and will not modify your game account, make in-game purchases, or take any actions on your behalf
- You may disconnect your HoYoLab integration at any time through your account settings, after which we will no longer retrieve new data from your game account
- Your use of HoYoLab data through Luminary is also subject to HoYoverse's terms of service and privacy policies
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Luminary only for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws. When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code or underlying algorithms of the Service
- Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or other automated systems to access or interact with the Service
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity
- Use the Service for any commercial purpose, including reselling AI-generated advice, without our prior written permission
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with usage limits, rate limiting, subscription restrictions, or any other security-related features of the Service
- Upload, transmit, or distribute any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or the servers and networks connected to it
- Access another user's account without their explicit permission
Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without prior notice.
7. AI-Generated Content
Luminary uses artificial intelligence models to generate gameplay recommendations, team compositions, build suggestions, and other companion content. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
- All recommendations and advice are AI-generated and provided for informational and entertainment purposes only
- AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or recommendations that may not be optimal for your specific situation
- You use all recommendations and suggestions at your own discretion and risk
- Luminary does not guarantee any specific in-game outcomes, performance improvements, or results from following its recommendations
- AI responses may vary and produce different results for similar queries
- Game updates, balance changes, and new content may render previous recommendations outdated or suboptimal
We strive to provide accurate and helpful advice by using real-time web search to ground our AI responses in current game data, but the dynamic nature of Genshin Impact means that recommendations may not always reflect the most current game state.
8. Intellectual Property
The Luminary service, including its name, logo, AI models, software, design, text, graphics, and other content (collectively, "Luminary Content"), is the property of Luminary and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Luminary Content without our express written consent.
Genshin Impact, HoYoLab, and all related names, logos, characters, and game assets are trademarks and copyrighted material of HoYoverse / COGNOSPHERE PTE. LTD. All rights are reserved by their respective owners. Any use of Genshin Impact content within Luminary is for informational and fair-use purposes only.

9. Subscriptions & Billing
Luminary offers both free and paid subscription tiers. If you choose to subscribe to a paid plan:
- Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device platform
- Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel before the renewal date
- You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal through your device's app store settings at any time
- To cancel a subscription, go to your device's app store subscription management page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access to paid features until then
- Refunds are handled according to the refund policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable
- We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing period, and we will provide reasonable advance notice of any price increases
- If a payment fails or a subscription lapses, your account will revert to the free tier and certain features may become unavailable
Free tier usage is subject to daily and monthly limits as described in the Service. Usage limits may be adjusted at our discretion.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LUMINARY AND ITS SERVICE ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any AI-generated content or recommendations.
IN NO EVENT SHALL LUMINARY, ITS OPERATORS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR FIFTY US DOLLARS ($50.00), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Luminary at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms or if your use of the Service poses a risk to other users or the integrity of the Service.
You may delete your account at any time through the app (Settings > Delete Account) or by contacting us at support@luminary.app. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, with data retained for 30 days before permanent purge.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. For material changes that significantly affect your rights or obligations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email, in-app notification, or a prominent notice on our website.
Your continued use of Luminary after the revised Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and may request deletion of your account.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within thirty (30) days, either party may pursue resolution through the appropriate legal channels. You agree that any legal action or proceeding relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of competent jurisdiction, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.
